Saturday night’s featured band at this summer’s PrairieFest will have the crowd “Working for the Weekend.”

The Oswegoland Park District announced Thursday that Canadian rockers Loverboy will headline the main stage on Saturday night. The band, which formed in 1979 in Alberta, Canada, boasts two Billboard Top 10 hits and 13 other tunes that have cracked the Billboard Top 100.

Concert-goers are likely to sing along to hits like “Working’ For the Weekend,” “Turn Me Loose,” “Hot Girls in Love,” The Kid Is Hot Tonight,” and “Queen of the Broken Hearts”

Friday night’s headliners also have enjoyed international success. Vertical Horizon recently completed a tour of Asia with hits like “Everything You Want,” “You’re a God,” and “Best I’ve Ever Had.”

“Oswegoland has a rich and wonderful reputation of being musical.  From the Oswego High School Crystals concert to any performance featuring Oswego East High School’s Spotlight, there is an appreciation of music in all forms here,” said Kristie Vest, festival coordinator. “We are excited to present local and national artists for audiences to enjoy.  2015 is going to be a great year for the festival!” said Vest.

Along with the headliners, the Park District also announced its full lineup of musical entertainment for this year’s festival, which is set for June 18-21.

Thursday

The PrairieWinds Community Band Concert will kick off the festival on Thursday under the direction of Stephanie San Roman and Kevin Schoenbach.  Musicians wishing to be a part of the concert can contact Ginny Bateman at gbateman@oswegolandpd.org.  The band holds two rehearsals before the event.

Thursday night will feature Chicago-based 80s cover band, Sixteen Candles Band.  They have played everything from House of Blues and Windy City Live to Rosie O’Donnell’s birthday party, but finds their best crowds at Chicagoland festivals.  Expect an 80s dance party on festival grounds.

Friday

Friday’s Family Concert Series will feature Grammy-nominated Dave Rudolf on the main stage of PrairieFest at noon.  Dave Rudolf is a children’s entertainer with a Gold Record and is a two-time Parent Choice winner.

Friday night’s lineup will open with local favorite Red Woody.  Red Woody covers the favorites crowds want to hear and throws their own party while they do it.

Vertical Horizon will follow Red Woody.

Saturday

On Saturday, country crossover artist and Illinois native Nick Lynch will start out the night.  With music featured on Windy City Live and ABC’s Rocking New Year’s Eve, Nick performs covers and originals. His covers include country favorites of Jason Aldean, Eric Church, and Keith Urban, as well as the rock hits of Tom Petty and the Rolling Stones.

Loverboy will follow Lynch.
