Kendall County Special Olympians Bring Home the Gold

Apr 27, 2015 04:58PM, Published by Steven Jack, Categories: Today, Community, News

On April 27,  Kendall County Comets Special Olympics participated in Spring Games at North Central College in Naperville.  We had 65 Track and Field athletes and 9 athletes participate in Powerlifting.

Our Powerlifting athletes brought home 25 Gold Medals, 8 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal in Squat, Bench and Dead Lift competitions.  These athletes have been practicing the three lifts since February, and all of their hard work and dedication to this new sporting event has certainly paid off.

Each one of these athletes who received a Gold medal will be traveling to ISU in Bloomington/Normal for Summer Games Competition June 12-14.

Congratulations to all the athletes and a big thank you to our coaches who volunteer their time to enrich our children’s lives.
