What makes you qualified to serve as an elected Oswego Township official?

I am the only candidate specifically qualified for the position of Highway Commissioner as I actively work as a hands on supervisor operating heavy equipment daily, I have work in all aspects of construction management, repaired and replaced municipal roads throughout the Chicago metropolitan area, I have performed underground installation and removal of sewer and water mains .I perform Excavation, Demolition and Concrete/Asphalt removal/replacement.  I am a registered subcontractor of the State of Illinois Department of Transportation. I have attended the I.D.O.T winter seminars and I am qualified in acquiring and issuing overweight/over dimension permits for all truck traffic.  I have plowed snow since 1975.using different pieces of machinery, ranging from plow trucks, to wheel loaders and salt spreaders. Etc.

What are your specific plans to restore transparency and public trust in the township?

I will install the use of a interactive web based e-mail system to facilitate the service I will post my cell phone number to the web site in case of emergency for all of the townships residents.  Part of the transparency issue is accountability, as I have a Commercial Drivers license I will be the one driving the semi trucks, operating all of the equipment operating the snow plows at all hours of the day to ensure the weather related incident is being attended

If any, what are your specific ideas for expanded Township services?

I will implement a catch basing cleaning program, to alleviative certain areas that are prone to flooding. , I will personally operate all pieces of equipment that the township owns, thereby reducing the need for certain subcontractors and saving the township apx. $60,000.00 per year

I will implement a free topsoil program

I will implement a free wood chip program

Would you support an effort to consolidate township services with other local taxing bodies to eventually remove this layer of government?

Yes!

If you are elected, what do you believe should be the Township’s top 3 immediate priorities?

1. An immediate change by introducing (written) standard polices and procedures for the highway dept.

2. Restoring the community trust, by having a interactive website and having a open house (forum) where you can meet your Highway Commissioner, Supervisor and Trustees and being able to ask questions in the open without having to fill out any “freedom of Information act” requests.

3.  Reviewing short and long term projects ensuring that the township is receiving the best value for the community.
