Edgar Barens may not have won an Academy Award Sunday night, but that's not stopping the Oswego High School graduate from continuing to raise awareness about the film's subject— dignity of dying prisoners.

Barens recently appeared on the Fusion Channel's program Open Source to discuss his nominated short documentary Prison Terminal: The Last Days of Private Jack Hall. You can see his interview in the embedded clip below.

As for his reaction to not winning this year's Oscar, Barens posted to the documentary's Facebook page earlier this week:

"IT WAS A GOOD RUN! I want to thank all of my dear friends and family members who followed me through this roller-coaster of a ride from shortlist to Oscar nomination.

While I did not get the Academy Award this time around, I truly feel I have won in many other ways. You have all been so enthusiastic and supportive of me and my work - I have truly been blessed!

There's still a lot of work to be done with Prison Terminal: The Last Days of Private Jack Hall, so it's not over yet - onward and upward!"
