According to a release from District 308, Wendt's annual salary will remain at $225,000, but performance based bonus have been added.
Dr. Matthew Wendt will lead Oswego School District 308 for another five years after board members approved a new employment agreement Monday night.
Board member Alison Swanson was the lone dissenting vote.
The salary included in the new agreement was not immediately available for the public, but Board President Bill Walsh said the contract is "performance-based." Wendt's current base salary is $225,000.
"This commitment to Dr. Wendt ensures the direction and path the district is on will continue," Walsh said. "This is a representation of the fantastic work that you, your entire staff, teachers and students have performed over the last two years."
In his statement, Wendt praised the district's teachers and parents and thanked the board for their support.
"I think we're moving in the right direction," he said. " ... This is the best team I've ever worked for. ... I don't want to be anywhere else."
Wendt started in District 308 in July 2012. He came to Oswego from Ankney, Iowa.
