Condo Complex Hit with Rash of Car Burglaries

Apr 22, 2014 08:54AM ● Published by Steven Jack

It's that time of year. The weather warms up and the incidents of car break-ins seem to go up, as well.

In the past 48 hours, Kendall County Sheriff's deputies have taken reports from at least five residents of the apartments in the 100 block of Harbor Road in Oswego Township who have had items stolen from their cars overnight. In some cases, vehicles also have been scratched with keys.

Items stolen in the break-ins range from a stereo to loose change, the sheriff's office said. In most cases, entry was gained through unlocked doors.

The sheriff's office is warning residents to lock their vehicles and to keep valuables out of plain sight.
