Elderly Woman Reports IRS Scam: Police

Thomas Lachance, 24, of 251 Fernwood Road, was charged with possession of marijuana at about 11:30 p.m. May 31 at Kirkland Circle and Kendall Pointe Drive, according to an Oswego Police report. He was given a June 23 court date.
IRS fraud scam
A 76-year-old woman on Treasure Drive reported to Oswego Police that someone tried to scam her out of nearly $5,000 by telling her she owed the money to the IRS. Oswego Police are investigating.
A resident in the 500 block of Springbrook Trail reported someone broken into his home and stole a set of keys for his car sometime before 6:40 a.m. May 26, according to an Oswego Police report.
Raymond Hernandez, 48, of 401 Monroe St., Oswego, was charged with domestic battery and resting a police officer at about 2:10 a.m. May 27, according to an Oswego Police report. He was given a June 16 court date.
A couple in the 0-99 block of Crescent Court in Oswego Township, reported to Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies that two men attempted to break in to their home at about 7:35 p.m. May 27,. The two men were seen near a window at the back of the home and an entry gate to the home had been damaged, deputies reported.
Patrick Linden 29, of 130 Clubhouse Lane, Oswego, was charged with domestic battery at about 6:15 p.m. May 25 at his home, according to an Oswego Police report. He was given July 8 court date.
Alexy Dementiev, 52, of Plainfield, was charged with DUI at about 11 p.m. May 25 at Wolf Road and Route 30, according to an Oswego Police report. He was given a July 8 court date.
