National Discount Retailer to Fill Long-Vacant Space

The long-vacant space between Dick’s Sporting Goods and Kohl’s will soon have a tenant.
National discount retailer Five Below will open an Oswego location there in the coming months.
Vijay Gadde, the village’s economic development director revealed the news at Tuesday night’s Village Board meeting. Gadde said he was unsure of when the store may open, and that the building's owners had only revealed that a lease agreement had been signed.
Five Below is a chain of retail stores that according to its website: “is a the leading retailer of trend-right, extreme-value merchandise to the teen and pre-teen market.”
Nothing in the store is priced above $5.
Five Below's merchandise includes everything from “sporting goods, games, fashion accessories and jewelry, to hobbies and collectibles, bath and body, candy and snacks, room décor and storage, stationery and school supplies, video game accessories, books, dvds, iPhone accessories, novelty and "gag," and seasonal items."
Five Below currently has local stores in Geneva, Naperville and Joliet.
