Four Hospitalized in Accident at Cherry and Schlapp

Four people were taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center Tuesday night after a two-car accident at Cherry and Schlapp roads in unincoroporated Kendall County.
 
At about 8 p.m. a car driven by an 18-year-old Plainfield man was heading east on Cherry Road and entered the intersection at Schlapp and was struck by another vehicle heading north on Schlapp, the Kendall County Sheriff's office said.

The driver of the first vehicle and his three passengers were taken by ambulance to Rush-Copley Medical Center for their injuries. The second driver refused medical treatment, the sheriff's office said.

According to initial reports, an emergency medical helicopter was called to the scene, but was later canceled. 

The Plainfield man was ticketed for failure to yield at an intersection, the sheriff's office said.
