District 308 Strategic Planning Continues

Associate Superintendent Paul O'Malley discusses the future of District 308 with community members at a recent strategy session.

More than 45 district administrators, staff, teachers and parents completed a series of day-long workshops recently to plan for the future growth and development within Community Unit School District 308.

The Strategic Planning Task Force workshops featured open dialogue between community members and district representatives. Additional meetings are scheduled for later this summer and fall.

The group started work in April and will provide the board of education with staff- and community-based input as it develops the next comprehensive strategic plan for the district.

During the meetings, task force members analyzed and discussed data and other information to help them understand trends and deepen their insight and knowledge of both the district and communities served.

“I am pleased with the progress we have made by a task force made up of a diverse group of representatives from our school district,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Matthew Wendt. “This is the first step in a multi-month plan that will bring to fruition a long-term strategic plan for the board to consider.”

The next draft of the anticipated strategic plan was presented to the Board of Education June 23.
