If you thought buzzfeed.com was mostly a website dedicated to telling you which Brady Bunch character you are, well you’re mostly right.

However, the popular trend website does occasionally come through with some worthwhile content, and this week featured one of Oswego’s own in a list of 24 Simple Facts That Will Make You Feel Better About People.

Local tattoo artist, minister and Ink 180 owner Chris Baker came in at 18 on the list for his work covering gang and sex-trafficking tattoos for free.

Baker’s ministry, which was founded in 2011, was featured in a Buzzfeed profile back in March 2013, and according to the site's tally that original story has been read more than 62,000 times.

Baker said the operation continues to grow every day, and has become something beyond what he’d ever imagined.

“When we started this we just wanted to help people out,” Baker said. “To see it grow like this has totally taken me by surprise.”

Baker said currently about 70 percent of his work is covering gang tattoos at both his shop on Stonehill Road in Oswego and from his mobile unit he takes into Chicago once a week. That’s amounting to about 20-25 gang cover-ups a week.

“I believe everyone deserves a second chance at life, and I want to offer them help to live their second chance,” Baker told Buzzfeed last year.
