Oswego District 308 will host two sessions to provide information to the community on the district’s potential departure from the Kendall County Special Education Cooperative.
The School Board recently approved a resolution requesting the district’s departure from the Cooperative for the 2015-16 school year. The nonbinding resolution allows the district to begin conversations with other cooperative members about its potential departure. Cooperative member school districts will still need to vote on whether to allow School District 308 to exit.
School District 308 will host two sessions in which administrators will share plans related to the potential departure.
The first forum is scheduled from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, in the Oswego East High School auditorium. The second session is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 10, in the Southbury Elementary School gymnasium.
Bpth sessions will share the same information.
Parents can submit questions regarding the district’s plan to leave the cooperative prior to the informational sessions by visiting the district’s website or by going to http://goo.gl/v2u5d7 or through the link on the district’s home page. All questions need to be submitted by Tuesday, July 8.
Childcare will be available during the July 10 informational session only. Parents are required to RSVP for this childcare service by July 8 by contacting Kerri Mispagel at (630) 636-4374.For more information on the informational sessions, contact Director of Special Education Mary Redding at (630) 636-4374.
