An Aurora man faces several charges after fleeing from police early Tuesday morning.

According a Montgomery Police news release, Alexander Oglesby, 21, was stopped at about 1 a.m. near the Ashland Avenue bridge for disobeying a traffic control device.

He then fled on foot and jumped into the Fox River from the Ashland Avenue bridge, police said.

Oglesby floated down river toward the dam near Mill Street where he was pulled from the water by two fishermen.

He was taken into custody and charged with disobeying traffic control device, driving while license suspended, no valid Insurance, and attempted obstruction. Oglesby also was wanted on several warrants out of Aurora and Kane County, police said.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Aurora after several suicide attempts, police said.

A report on Oglesby's condition was not immediately available.
