Pair Busted for Street Racing on Route 34: Police

Retail theft, alcohol possession

Milan Thomas, 20, and Stephawn Johnson, 20, both of Aurora were charged with retail theft and possession of alcohol by a minor at about 12:45 a.m. July 27 at Walmart, according to Oswego Police. Bothbwere given Aug. 12 court dates.

DUI

Jordan Awe, 23, of Plainfield, was charged with DUI, failure to signal and failure to yield turn left at about 9:30 p.m. July 27 at Route 71 and Wolf’s Crossing, according to an Oswego Police report. He was given an Aug. 12 court date.

Eluding police

A 17-year-old Montgomery girl was charged with eluding police and not having a valid driver’s license after fleeing from Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies attempting to stop her for speeding at about midnight July 26, in the 1700 block of Fox Mead Court in Oswego Township. A 15-year-old Oswego boy who was a passenger was charged on a curfew violation, the sheriff’s office said.

Machinery damaged

Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of someone throwing a rock through the front windshield of a piece of construction equipment sometime before 8 a.m. July 25 in the 0-99 block of Sonora Drive in Oswego Township. The damage to the equipment is estimated at about $2,000.

DUI

Miguel Angel Rivera Escobar, 31, of Montgomery was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol at about 8 p.m. July 26 near Secretariat and Wolf’s Crossing Road, according to an Oswego Police report. Two passengers in Ecobar’s car, Juan Luis Villa-Loera, 24, of Montgomery and Jesus Reyes-Romero, 38, Aurora, were both charged with illegal transportation of alcohol. All were given an Aug. 25 court date.

Pot possession

Andrew Howard, Josiah Castillo, and Jarett Neuman, all 18 and from Oswego, were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at about 1:15 a.m. July 26 at Willowwood and Mill Road, according to an Oswego Police report. All were given an Aug. 12 court date.

Burglary at downtown business

Oswego Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at American Finishers, 62 Washington St., sometime before 10:30 a.m. July 26. Police did not provide an amount of the stolen property, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Street racing

Ulugbek Yusupov, 21, of Aurora, and a 17-year-old Oswego boy were both charged with street racing, speeding in excess of 35 mph, no valid drivers license and not having insurance at about 12:30 a.m. July 25 at Route 34 and Prairie Market Drive, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s office report. Both were taken into custody.

DUI

Curtis Lippold III, 25, of Aurora, was charged with DUI, speeding, squealing tires, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, invalid insurance and no valid registration after an accident at about 7 p.m. July 25 at Charlotte and Matena, Oswego Police said. Lippold was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident, police said.

Pot possession

Jonathan Valle, 19, of 2428 Deer Point Drive, Montgomery was charged with marijuana possession after a traffic stop at about 9:30 p.m. July 25 at Fernwood Road and Hunter Drive in Oswego Township, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. 

Employee investigated for theft

Oswego Police are investigating a suspected employee theft of two televisions from Walmart sometime before 3 p.m. July 24. The value of the TVs are about $800, police said.

Burglary

Oswego Police are investigating a theft to a motor vehicle at about 2:30 a.m. July 25 in the 500 block of Waubonsee Circle in which change was taken from an unlocked vehicle. Police said a man was seen pulling on car handles in the neighborhood over night.

Excessive speeding

Adrian Ramirez, 25, of Montgomery, was charged with driving more than 35 mph over the speed limit at about 5:10 p.m. July 23 on Schlapp Road near Johnson Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s office report. He was clocked traveling 92 mph in a 55 mph zone and taken to the Kendall County Jail.
