The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Kendall County from 1 a.m. Wednesday through Wednesday afternoon.

Forecasters are predicting severe thunderstorms that could bring heavy rainfall, hail up to one inch in diameter, wind gusts up to 60 mph, frequent cloud to ground lightning and a small chance for an isolated tornado.

The NWS said two inches of rain is predicted in the next 24 hours with the possibility of three to five inches in some areas. The timing of the heaviest rain will come Wednesday morning, the NWS said.
