The white vehicle parked near this home in the 4000 block of Route 34 was intentionally set on fire early Thursday morning, Oswego Police said.
Oswego Police are investigating a car fire they believe was intentionally set early Thursday morning.
Firefighters were called to a home in the 4000 block of Route 34 at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday for a fully involved vehicle fire, said Josh Walters, Oswego Fire Protection District battalion chief. After they arrived, firefighters quickly doused the fire, which also damaged another nearby vehicle.
“We believe an accelerant was used,” said Oswego Police Capt. Jeff Burgner. “We have had evidence technicians on the scene and they are collecting evidence to further our investigation. We’re following up on some leads from the scene.”
The fire was called in from the nearby Speedway gas station at routes 34 and 71, Burgner said.
No one was injured in the fire, and the home did not sustain any damage, Walters said.
