Girl Waiting for School Bus Struck with Object Thrown from Car: Police

A resident of the 1500 block of Light Road reported a burglary occurred at his home sometime between 3 p.m. Sept 27 and 8 p.m. Sept. 28. Reported missing were various electronic items and jewelry, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. There are suspects in the case, the sheriff’s office said.
Underage possession of alcohol
Brendan Janis, 18, of 240 Isleview Drive, was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor at about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at Oswego High School, according to Oswego Police. He was given a Nov. 4 court date.
Two residents near Devoe Drive and Valentine Way in Oswego reported graffiti spray-painted on their driveways sometime before 7 a.m. Sept. 27, Oswego Police said. The incidents are under investigation.
Object thrown from car
A 13-year-old Boulder Hill girl reported someone threw an object at her form a moving car as she waited for her school bus at about 7:20 a.m. Sept. 26 at Saugatuck Road and Circle Drive East, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office reported. The object hit the girl and was later determined to be a deodorant stick. The girl was uninjured. The vehicle was described as a black Nissan Altima.
An Oswego woman reported that her bicycle was stolen from the 3000 block of Grove Road sometime before 4:10 p.m. Sept. 26, Oswego Police said. An investigation is ongoing.
Andrew Chavez, 24, of Montgomery, was charged with marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 6 p.m. Sept. 25 at Boulder Hill Pass and Saugatuck Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s office report. He was originally stopped for speeding, the sheriff’s office said.
Mariah Salmon, 21, of 400 Monroe St., was charged with DUI and speeding at about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 25 near Route 71 and Liberty, according to Oswego Police. She was given an Oct. 14 court date.
Stolen car set on fire
Oswego Police are investigating the an arson of a stolen vehicle that occurred at about 5 a.m. Sept. 23 in the 2000 block of Roth Road. The vehicle was described as a 2005 Hummer H2.
