Lauri Doyle, who has served on several School District committees and as a parent volunteer, said her top concern is the lack of respect that she says has been shown to parents in recent years, and the erosion of trust that has caused. She also questioned what she called a "business-centric culture" that has developed in the district.
Doyle said she plans to work with all of the communities within the district to encourage commercial and industrial growth to "to relieve the (property tax) burden on homeowners."
She also said it's time to improve education programs like Academically Talented and raise them to standards comparable to neighboring districts. Doyle also voiced her support for the district's Dual Language program, which has come under fire in recent months.
Doyle has one child in the district, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Master's Degree in Accounting.
