SNAPSHOT: Traughber Diversity 5K a Success

On the morning of October 25th, Traughber Junior High hosted their first Diversity 5K.

All of the teachers and staff involved made it a successful event for Traughber students, staff and their families. The course took place on the Traughber grounds and even utilized the prairie trails that were “haunted” just the night before!

The 8th grade boys basketball team were enthusiastic course marshals directing runners
and cheering everyone throughout the race. The cheerleaders did the same as they handed out water
on the course.

The character of these students who gave up their Saturday morning was appreciated

and inspiring. The super hero themed t-shirt was designed by a Traughber student, showing that there is a hero inside each of us.

At the end of the race, awards were given to the top runners and a drawing was
held for terrific raffle prizes, including tickets to Mary Poppins at the Paramount Theater, a skating party at Aurora Skate Center and gift certificates for the Oswego Cyclery just to name a few.

Congratulations
to Amy Ryan and the entire Traughber Diversity team and thank you for planning a fun morning that I was able to spend with my junior high student.
