By all reports, Superman could be flying back through the Oswego area in the coming days.
Several sources have said the new “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” film will shoot scenes in early November at the same farmhouse location used in “Man of Steel” near Route 126 and Grove Road in unincorporated Kendall County. Film crews, including security guards, could be seen this week at the house and the nearby Aux Sable Grove Cemetery.
“I don’t have any exact dates, but I can confirm that the movie will be filming at the location in (Kendall County) and in Chicago,” said David Roeder, spokesman for the Illinois Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Illinois Film Office.
Roeder had no additional information, as news of filming locations and dates are generally kept under wraps.
Scenes for “Batman vs. Superman” were to be filmed in the area this spring, but plans were postponed after the production was delayed 10 months. The majority of the filming has taken place over the last few months in Detroit.
In March, construction crews could be seen rebuilding the farmhouse that was destroyed after the filming of “Man of Steel." Film crews spent weeks at the farmhouse and other locations in downtown Plano and Chicago during the summer of 2011.
The latest Superman movie stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill, who will reprise his role as Superman. Other cast members making a return include Amy Adams and Diane Lane. The movie has a reported budget of $160 million, and will open in March 2016.
