Kendall County Sheriff's Office Warning of IRS Scam

Nov 25, 2014 12:13PM ● Published by Steven Jack

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of an ongoing scam.

The Sheriff's Office received two victim reports Tuesday of callers stating they are from the Internal Revenue Service telling the victims they may be arrested if they do not pay money for past due balances.

One victim stated that the phony IRS agent told her that they would be at her door to arrest her shortly.

The Sheriff’s Office urges residents to not send any money to these scammers.

If citizens have received a similar call, they should call Oswego Police or file an online report with the Federal Trade Commission at http://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov.

Citizens can also contact the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Community Policing Unit at (630) 553-7500 Ext. 1132 with any questions.
