Optimist Club Collecting Gifts for Needy Families

Dec 05, 2014 02:31PM ● Published by Steven Jack

The Oswegoland Optimist Club is once again collecting Christmas gifts for needy families in the community.

The Needy Family Christmas Project is the club's biggest undertaking of the year, and this year 81 local families are in need of support, said project leader Bryan Noble.

Those that wish to "adopt" a family will receive a wish list from which to purchase gifts. Noble said there are still many wish lists available. Those that adopt families are encouraged to spend only what they are comfortable with.

The deadline to return the gifts to the Optimist Club is Dec. 15. Drop-off to the families will occur Dec. 20, and volunteers are still needed for deliveries.
