Name: Tommy Weglarz

School: Prairie Point Elementary

Grade: Fourth

What makes him a Kid Who Cares: Tommy is an amazing and caring young man. He loves to help animals, and is a junior volunteer with the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue.

He just finished writing and illustrating a book that will be published and he plans to sell as a fundraiser for the Rescue. The funds will help with their veterinarian costs, food and supplies needed for the dogs.

Last year for his birthday instead of gifts Tommy asked for money to help a French Bulldog named Cupcake receive a surgery. Tommy was able to raise $2,000 for that surgery and was also able to help another bulldog that needed medical attention.

In 2013, Tommy led his brothers and a cousin in a keychain fundraiser for MOPS pug rescue and the Puppy Mill Project. They kids sold keychains and collected $166 in donations.

He truly has a passion and love for animals and always finding ways help give back.
