The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens that current weather
forecasts for the area are calling for between 10” and 14” of snow.

Extreme wind
conditions will exist on Sunday February 1st, creating blizzard like conditions. We are asking that citizens remain home, and only travel if absolutely necessary.

be aware that while the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and other local emergency services are preparing for the upcoming weather, response to stranded motorists may be delayed or impossible.

If you must travel, please make the following preparations:
  • Ensure your vehicle is full of gas prior to departure. If you become stranded, your vehicle may be your only source of heat.
  • Ensure your cellular phone is charged.
  • Pack a winter weather kit containing plenty of food, water, a charged flashlight with extra batteries, a lighter or matches, and a candle. Ensure you have adequate clothing as well.
  • Ensure a family member or trusted friend knows where you are going, and the route you plan on taking. Advise them when you are leaving, and when you plan on returning.

In the event of an emergency, call 911. The non-emergency phone number for the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is (630)553-5856.
