Letter to the Editor: Oswego Senior Center Will See Tremendous Growth

Feb 15, 2015 07:59AM ● Published by Steven Jack

After taking a tour of the Oswego Senior Center last week, I was so impressed and returned again last week to attend lunch there with my Mom and Sister.

I wanted to say what a wonderful job everyone does in running and managing the center and its programs and what a great place with a great positive environment  During that lunch, I met many great folks that are responsible for its operations.

This group of wonderful folks is passionate, caring and works tirelessly to ensure that our seniors have robust programs that offer friendship, networking, variety activity and support.  They have grown tremendously since 2009 when it started with a meal program and bunco and they've added services of other organizations such as Senior Services for case management, SHIP/Senior Health Insurance Program and, important to me as a Marine Corp. Veteran, the Kendall County Veterans' Assistance Commission.

If you're not aware of the services of the Oswego Senior Center, it would be well worth taking a tour and checking out their website.  The Social Security Administration says that 10,000 of us baby boomers are retiring each day so our Senior Center is likely to experience even greater growth.  I know they would appreciate your support and interest in the fantastic and caring work they are doing.
