Oswego firefighters quickly extinguished a fire in a home on Boulder Hill Pass Thursday night.
According to a news release from the Oswego Fire Protection District, firefighters were dispatched to the home in the 200 block of Boulder Hill Pass at about 6:50 p.m. for a call of a fire in a bedroom.
When firefighters arrived they found a second floor bedroom on fire and extinguished the flames within five minutes, the release said.
The residents were able to evacuate the home before firefighters arrived. One resident was treated at the scene, but refused transport to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Firefighters also were able to rescue the family's cat, said Battalion Chief Josh Walters.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Walters said. Damage to the home is estimated at $75,000.
