Thirty seven students from all choir levels at Oswego East High School joined into one to represent the school over Spring Break.
The group, accompanied by choir director, Peter Barsch and parent chaperones, traveled to Memphis and New Orleans to participate in a variety of educational and cultural activities in both cities.
In Memphis the group took part in the Memphis Mojo Tour (highlighting the musical history of the city), a tour of Graceland, a conference and mini concert by singer-songwriter Kate Campbell at the Center for Southern Folklore and concluded the visit with a tour and performance at the National Civil Rights Museum/Lorraine Motel in front of the balcony where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.
In New Orleans the students took part in the Swamp Tour, a walking tour of the French Quarter and the French Market, dinner/live music at the original Cajun restaurant Mulate's, toured the Audubon Zoo, National World War II Museum and performed at Washington Artillery Park.
