A Plainfield man is free on $25,000 bail after being charged last week in the drug-overdose death of Plainfield woman.

According to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Eric Ziarko, 21, is responsible for the Dec. 6 death of 20-year-old Karly Jackson. He is charged with drug-induced homicide after Jackson overdosed at the Council Court Motel along Route 30.

Oswego Police officers along with sheriff's deputies and Oswego Fire Protection District paramedics responded to the motel at about 7:15 p.m. for a report of a woman who was unresponsive and not breathing. Despite their life-saving efforts, Jackson was later pronounced dead at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy that concluded the cause of death was a drug overdose.

Kendall County Sheriff’s Detectives began an investigation, and on April 10 the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Ziarko with the Class X felony.

Plainfield Police took Ziarko into custody without incident April 10, and he was transported to the Kendall County Jail. Ziarko posted $25,000 bail on Saturday.
