The new Oswego Village Board is expected to appoint an interim Village Administrator at its first regular meeting on Tuesday.
According to a news release from the village, President0Elect Gail Johnson will recommend former Oswego Administrator Carrie Hansen to serve a similar capacity until a permanent replacement is found.
“Hansen has vast experience in public administration as well as economic development,” Johnson said. “She is someone I have confidence in and trust as my chief adviser.”
Two candidates were considered for the position based on availability and qualifications. Hansen was appointed as Oswego’s Community Development Director in 1999, and served as Village Administrator between 2001 and 2005. She left the village to take a position in the private sector, and was eventually replaced by Gary Adams.
Adams left Oswego in 2011, and was replaced by outgoing Village Administrator Steve Jones.
Hansen currently serves as the Director of Planning and Governmental Services for Schoppe Design Associates in downtown Oswego. The Village Board will vote to approve a contract with Schoppe Design Associates for Hansen to serve as Interim Administrator for approximately 30 hours per week.
