First Beats and Eats Event Set for This Weekend

The first of the three dates is set for Saturday, May 30, along Main Street and will feature rock and reggae acts. Gates open at 4 p.m.
After moving from a single day in Prairie Point Park the last three years to three free downtown shows throughout the summer, the series also will feature a variety of food options along with the Market on Main antique fair.
Here's a look at the acts for the May 30 concert:
May 30's headliner will be Andrew Belle, a singer/songwriter originally from Wheaton who has released two full-length studio albums along with four EPs. Belle spent time in Nashville before moving back to Chicago in 2012.
The Steepwater Band is a Chicago rock band formed in 1998. They've toured all over the world and have performed with Lynyrd Skynyrd .38 Special, The Doobie Brothers and Cheap Trick. The band's music has also been featured in TV shows Friday Night Lights, My Name is Earl and Deadliest Catch.
Marina City is also a Chicago band that could be classified as "pop-punk." They've released two EPs and tour extensively in the Midwest and on the East Coast.
Gizzae is a reggae band from Chicago that has toured the country and are regulars at the Wild Hare Club on North Halsted Street in the city.

- Kona Ice – Shaved ice
- Oswego Family Restaurant – BBQ with Uncle Bill’s BBQ Sauce
- Pages Popcorn – Gourmet Popcorn
- Sweet Fondant LLC - Baked Goods
