Blaze Pizza is expected to open in the strip center to be built in the former Dominick's gas station location at Route 34 and Douglas Road in Oswego.
Vijay Gadde, the village's economic development director, announced at last week's Oswego Chamber of Commerce annual meeting that fast casual pizza chain Blaze Pizza is expected to be one of three tenants in the proposed strip center being built in the location of the former Dominick's gas station at Route 34 and Douglas Road.
Blaze Pizza is a national franchise operation with over 40 locations from coast to coast. It's known as the "Chipotle of pizza" with made-to-order pies made in 180 seconds in a 900 degree oven. There are currently three locations in Chicago and one opening soon in Oak Lawn, according to the company's website.
The strip will also include another mattress store, Gadde said. The third tenant has yet to be announced. The developer of the strip has recently received approval from the village, and construction should begin soon.
The opening of the long-delayed 5 Below discount store, which was announced last summer, looks to be finally moving forward. Gadde said permits have been obtained for the store's build out at the location between Kohl's and Dick's Sporting Goods.
Lastly, the closing this week of Oswego's Children's Place clothing store in the Meijer shopping center will make way for Brothers Country Supply. The pet supply chain currently has locations in Morris and Ottawa. Gadde said he did not know when the store would open.
Village's economic development director says store will be "great fit" in an area where shoppers want more variety. Read More »
