Wanted Juvenile Arrested at Plainfield Daycare

May 28, 2015 09:42AM ● Published by Steven Jack

A juvenile wanted by Plainfield Police caused quite a scare for parents Thursday morning at a daycare center near 127th and 248th streets.

According to Plainfield Police Sgt. Mike Fisher, police received a call at 7:45 a.m. that a wanted male juvenile was heading to the north side of Plainfield. While on patrol in the area of the Creative World School, police spotted the juvenile’s car and gave a short pursuit.

The juvenile ditched his car in the daycare parking lot, and eventually hopped a fence to the facility’s playground by climbing on an air conditioning unit. Police also gained access to the playground over the same fence, and the juvenile was arrested without further incident, Fisher said.

“Luckily for us the outside doors of the playground were locked and no kids were outside playing at the time,” Fisher said.

Charges against the juvenile are pending, but Fisher said he faces several, including those for drug possession and fleeing police.
