Man Who Led Oswego, Montgomery and County Police on Chase Was Driving Stolen Car

At about 9:40 a.m. Kendall County Sheriff's Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near the Jewel Store on Route 30. The driver of the car did not pull over and fled from police.
A short distance later, the suspect crashed the car into a tree near Long Beach Road and Kensington and fled on foot. Oswego and Montgomery police helped pursue the man, but they were unsuccessful.
Police then contacted the registered owner of the vehicle and discovered that it had been stolen.
A suspect has been identified and warrants have been issued on charges of vehicle theft, criminal damage to property, eluding police, leaving the scene of an accident and obstructing justice.
Police have not identified the suspect at this time.
