According to Police Media Relations Officer Cathy Nevara, a resident in the 200 block of Foster Drive in the Prescott Mill subdivision found a bullet in an upstairs closet of the home and reported it to police at about 10 a.m. Monday.
During the initial investigation a bullet entry hole was found in the back of the home, Nevara said, and a neighbor reported hearing a possible gunshot at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
There are no suspects in the case, and Nevara said police will be in the area Tuesday continuing their investigation.
This is the second incident in recent months of apparent random gunshots fired near Prescott Mill. Police were called to Wolf's Crossing Road and Devoe Drive early in the morning Feb.8 for a report of several shots fired.
Shells were located on the shoulder of the road, but there was no evidence of nearby homes being hit. In that case, Police Chief Jeff Burger said evidence had been collected that someone had been shooting at a nearby animal.
