Zachary Ryan Barthel, 26, of Oswego; Corey John Gorges, 20, of Yorkville; Thomas Joseph Gallagher, 21, of Aurora; and Kathryn Patricia Fyfe, 25, of Aurora, all are charged with felony home invasion, residential burglary and aggravated unlawful use of weapons, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.
At about 2:50 p.m. Friday, Gallagher and Gorges allegedly entered a home in the 0-99 block of Larkspur Lane in Bristol Township armed with handguns and stole several items while Barthel and Frye waited a short distance away in a vehicle. A resident who was at home was able to escape and call 911.
Sheriff's deputies along with officers from Oswego, Montgomery, and Yorkville arrived a short time later and took the four into custody after a search of the area. During the search, police received information from the community about the suspects, their location, the items they were carrying and the vehicle they drove, the sheriff's office said.
The following day members of the Illinois Search and Rescue Council assisted the sheriff’s office with an article search in the areas surrounding East Larkspur Lane. The search team located two guns and clothing belonging to the suspects.
While the incident on East Larkspur Lane occurred Friday, the sheriff’s office also took a report of a forced entry residential burglary that occurred just hours before in Minooka. It was reported that the home was entered and numerous items, including two guns and ammunition were stolen. The guns recovered Saturday morning were identified as those stolen from the Minooka home. Gorges faces an additional charged of residential burglary in this case, the sheriff's office said.
All four are being held in the Kendall County Jail. Gorges has a $500,000 bond. Fyfe, Gallagher, and Barthel are being held on $350,000.
