What's Happening Thursday at PrairieFest?

The Sixteen Candles Band takes the PrairieFest Main Stage Thursday night at 8:30.

Today is the opening day of the 2015 Oswegoland Park District PrairieFest!

The weather looks to be clearing up for this afternoon after a 40 percent chance of rain through 1 p.m. So, even though the ground might be a bit wet , there's plenty of fun at the fest today. Check out these top picks:

FOR THE KIDDOS 

ME TOO@PRAIRIEFEST From 3:30 to 5 p.m. families with children with special needs can enjoy the carnival as it opens early just for them with the Me Too@PrairieFest event. Families who require a modified experience can purchase an unlimited ride wristband for just $10.

WINDY CITY UNLIMITED RIDES WRISTBAND From 6 to 10 p.m. purchase an unlimited ride wristband for $20. 

FOR THE GROWN-UPS

SIXTEEN CANDLES BAND From 8:30 to 10 p.m. Come sing along to your favorites from the 80s!

An exceptional afternoon exclusively for exceptional families. Children with special needs and their families are invited to experience a modified carnival. $10 for unlimited ride wristbands

$12 per plate. Pork chops, chicken, or combination. $5.50 hotdogs for kids. Rain location at OHS cafeteria. Funds benefit Oswegoland schools

• 5:00 – 9:00pm  PrairieFest Expo Village
Hundreds of area crafters and businesses to visit!

• 5:30 – 6:00 pm OEHS spotlight Choir - Main Stage
Oswego East High School’s Vocal Jazz Choir

• 6:00 – 6:30pm voice activated Choir rock acapella - Main Stage
Under the direction of Oswego East High School’s Peter Barsch

• 6:00 – 7:00pm Princesses & Pirates - Children’s Tent
Visit with your favorite pirates and fairy tale princesses.

• 6:00-10 pm Windy City Amusement Carnival

• 6:30 – 7:30pm Oswego Prairie Winds Concert - Main Stage
Community concert under the direction of Kelly O’Neill and Stevan Rexroat

• 7:30-8:00pm OHS Step Team - Main Stage
Oswego High School’s nationally acclaimed step team entertains the fest!

• 8:30 – 10pm Sixteen Candles Band - Main Stage
Chicagoland hasn’t been the same since this talented and crazy band started touring festivals & concert venues.
