Oswego Boy Bitten by Dog on Path: Police

Jun 24, 2015 11:58AM ● Published by Steven Jack

A 12-year-old Oswego boy was taken to the hospital Tuesday after being bit by a dog.

According to Cathy Nevara, Oswego Police media relations officer, the boy was roller-skating along the Grove Road Trail near Collins Road at about 8:30 a.m. when he was bitten by a boxer mix. The boy was taken for medical treatment by his parents, Nevara said.

No charges have been filed against the owner, but the dog is currently under a 14-day quarantine, as is required by local ordinance, Nevara said.

"Everyone is cooperating. We don't expect any charges, but we will be following up at the end of the 14 days just to make sure everything is OK." she said.
