Drivers Hospitalized After Two Separate Oswego Accidents

Two separate car accidents in Oswego in 24 hours this week sent drivers to the hospital and closed local roads.

The first accident occurred at about 9:35 a.m. Tuesday along eastbound Route 34 near Route 30, according to an Oswego Police report. Two cars were involved — one driven by a 39-year-old Aurora man and the second by a 18-year-old Aurora woman.

In all, three people were taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center for minor injuries, and eastbound Route 34 from Kendall Pointe Drive to Route 30 was closed to traffic for about an hour. No tickets have been issued, police said.

The second accident occurred early Wednesday morning along Wolf’s Crossing Road.

According to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report, a 22-year-old Oswego man ran into a power pole in the 3500 block of Wolf’s Crossing at about 2 a.m.

The accident caused the pole to topple over into a nearby yard, the sheriff’s office said.

The driver was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center for treatment.

Wolf's Crossing Road was closed for about 90 minutes between Route 34 and Douglas Road due to the downed power line, police said.
