We would like to thank everyone who helped us make the Limelight Theatre Company’s 15th Anniversary summer season such a success! We had over 200 actors, musicians and technicians participate in four spectacular productions.
We tried a lot of new things this year, while also sticking to our roots. We started the season with a battle over the water in an original adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, took a flight to Neverland in Disney’s Peter Pan Jr., headed out to the park to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the open air, and wrapped things up with a lot of pink in the heartwarming tale of self discovery that is Legally Blonde The Musical.
These shows were so successful because of the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. These actors had mere weeks to learn lines, blocking, songs and dances. We challenged them every step of the way and they certainly rose to the occasion. Their parents and families helped them to practice at home, and helped them get to and from rehearsal every day. Talented volunteers contributed their skills in everything from costuming making/finding to scenic painting to baking cookies to selling tickets to set building (and un-building) to creating fairy wings, TV cameras, and much, much more.
We are incredibly lucky to have so much support from the community. Thank you to Murphy Jr. High and Fox Chase Elementary School for giving us a home to rehearse and perform. Thank you to Eric Arrimbide and Scott Bedell and the OPAC staff for technical support. Thank you to Michael Leali & the OHS Drama Department and Nicole Schremp & the OEHS Drama Department for lending us costume pieces and props. Thank you to all of the members of the community who came to see our shows and support the arts.
We have had a fabulous summer celebrating our first 15 years, and we cannot wait for all of the stories that the next 15 will bring. We hope you all join us for the ride!
