A Boulder Hill man has pleaded guilty in Kendall County court to possessing child pornography.

Robert Crysel, 22, of the 0-99 block of Sonora Drive, was charged in December with 15 counts of possessing images and videos of children under the age of 13 engaged in sex acts. He will spend seven years in prison, and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to a news release from Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis.

Acting on a tip, sheriff’s detectives were able to track down Crysel through his Internet Protocol address. Detectives then served a search warrant on his home and found the images and videos stored in files on his computer.

Crysel was interviewed by investigators and admitted he had downloaded the child pornography via Frostwire BitTorrent software.  Crysel also admitted he used specific search terms such as “child porn”, “small girls”, “little girls”, and “petite girls” to locate child pornography on the internet, Weis said.

“These cases are particularly difficult to investigate and prosecute due to the nature of these images.  I commend those that are tasked with this specialized and important task,” Weis said.

The case was investigated in conjunction with the Illinois Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
