Teens Arrested for Mob Action: Police

Mob action

Two 13-year-olds and two 14-year-olds were charged with mob action and obstructing police after allegedly threatening another teen with bricks at about 7:20 p.m. Aug. 23 in the 2800 block of Light Road, Oswego Township, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. When deputies arrived on the scene the four teens ran and were caught a short distance later. One of the 13-year-olds was also charged with aggravated assault and battery and another with aggravated assault. All of the juveniles were taken to the Kendall County Jail and later released to their parents. 

Attempted car break-in

Raul Romero, 20, of Boulder Hill, was arrested for criminal trespass to a vehicle after he was spotted trying to enter a car in the 0-99 block of Adams Street, Oswego Township at about 2:15 a.m. Aug. 21, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. When deputies originally saw Romero he was able to flee on foot, the sheriff's office said. He was later spotted in the backyard of a nearby home and was then taken into custody.

School damaged

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office reported that someone etched markings into several doors and windows at Long Beach Elementary School sometime before 1:10 a.m Aug. 20. The investigation is ongoing, and there are currently no suspects in the case. 

Domestic battery

Rebecca Smith, 35, of Oswego, was arrested for domestic battery at about 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at her home in the 400 block of Canterbury Court, according to an Oswego Police report.

John Menefee, 53, of Boulder Hill, was arrested for domestic battery at about 12:25 a.m. Aug. 18 at his home in the block of Fernwood Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. 

Resident scammed

A resident in the 0-99 block of Old Post Road fell victim to a "mystery shopper" scam Aug. 18 in which they deposited a fake cashier's check and then sent the money to a third party, according to an Oswego Police report. The resident was scammed out of $2,900, police said. 

Retail theft 

Eddie Lesure, 42, of Montgomery, was arrested for retail theft, criminal damage, obstructing identification and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 10:10 a.m. Aug. 17 at the Oswego Walmart, according to an Oswego Police report. 

Domestic battery

Demetris Davis, 44, of Oswego, was arrested for domestic battery at about 5 p.m. Aug. 17 at his home in the 300 block of Bucktail Drive, according to an Oswego Police report.

iPad stolen

A woman who left an iPad in her car as she shopped at the Oswego Meijer returned to her vehicle at about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 17 to find that the iPad had been stolen, according to an Oswego Police report. The iPad is valued at about $450, police said. 

Residential burglary

An elderly woman who is a resident of Seneca Drive in Boulder Hill was the victim of a residential burglary sometime before 6 p.m. Aug. 17, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's office report. The woman reported that someone forced entry into the home through the back door.
