Sep 04, 2015 02:19PM ● Published by Steven Jack

As part of the Oswego Strategic Plan, village staff recently provided traffic calming examples to the Village Board at a Committee of the Whole meeting. The Village Board determined that a task force should be formed to investigate these measures in-depth.

The task force will consist of representatives from the Village’s Community Development Department, Police Department, Public Works, and the Oswego Fire Protection District, Community Unit School District 308, Kendall Area Transit and other groups that serve the Village of Oswego.  The task orce is also open to all interested residents.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 16th at 6:30 p.m. at the Oswego Village Hall. The goal of the task force is to assist staff in analyzing and identifying appropriate traffic calming measures for use in the Village.

Topics of discussion will include specific traffic calming measures and devices, the appropriateness of these devices for our community, and the expected process for requesting, installing, and removing these measures and devices, in addition to a review of available traffic calming policies and procedures.

For more information and to RSVP for the meeting, contact Aaron Howe, Village Administrative Intern at ahowe@oswegoil.org or 630.551.2343.
