The downtown Oswego branch of the Oswego Public Library District will host its Grand Re-Opening Celebration Saturday.

The celebration will be held from noon to 3 p.m. and includes the following schedule of activities:
  • Noon Ribbon Cutting, Doors Open, Refreshments
  • Noon to 2 p.m. Balloon Artist
  • Noon to 3 p.m. Games & Activities
  • 2 to 3 p.m. Music
The library addition has been under construction for over a year. The project added about 4,000 square feet to the first floor in the children's wing with a new program room and learning area for preschoolers.

An 8,700-square-foot second story also was added. The upstairs includes more room for teens and a meeting room with enough space for 50.

The Library District did not take on additional debt to construct the addition.
Funding has come from impact fees collected from developers in previous years and money saved by the district.
