OYTF Kicking Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Sep 26, 2015 07:20AM ● Published by Steven Jack

On Saturday, Sept. 26, Oswego Youth Tackle Football & Cheer will have Pink Heals at their games to kick off their breast cancer awareness for the month of October.

OYTF started their breast cancer awareness early this year by having a bake sale during practice this week to help raise money for an 8U Orange football player's mom who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Pink Heals (http://pinkfiretrucks.org), is a TRUE Non Profit organization that started in 2007. They help people battling cancer with a focus on women and what they mean to us in our daily lives.

They will bring a pink firetruck out to Grande Park in Plainfield Saturday to bring awareness about breast cancer and answer any questions people might have. While the truck is there, they will allow survivors of breast cancer to sign the truck and kids to sit in the truck.

They will be selling shirts that will help maintain their vehicles, buy gas, and all additional dollars will be donated to a local hospital to help fund their cancer centers.

Come visit the Pink Heals fire truck from 7:30am - 1pm at Grande Park. While you are there, come check out our cheerleaders who are getting ready for their competition on Oct. 4 and some great, highly competitive football played by the Oswego School District 308 youth in grades 1st-8th.
