Oswego Bears Go Undefeated in Week 5

Tiny Mite 24 – Lockport Porters 0
The Oswego Bears Tiny Mites have not been scored on in the last four games.   This week was no exception.  The offense was on fire with Dominic Battista scoring the first touchdown of the day, followed shortly by another from Nolan Robertson.   Zach Gilson gained over fifty yards and set up another touchdown made by Kashton Wilson. Battista scored again on a fifty yard run after a nice hand-off by Matthew Odefey.  Cameron Logan snapped great all day.  On defense Batista and Robertson were a force to be reckoned with.  Robertson had a quarterback sack in the third quarter and Alex Perez racked up several tackles on the day.  RJ Shields, Vince Herrera and Cody Parker did an amazing job of containing the Porters offense and not allowing any first downs during the game.  The victory was a whole team effort. 
 
Mitey Mite 1 (Slou) 12 –Lockport Porters 2
The Bears came out of the gate swinging, scoring on the opening kick off when Charles Canada was able to scamper 60 years for the score.  On the next play Brayden Swanson scooped up the ball when Lockport was unable to pick up the bouncing kick. Trey Hernandez followed with a 40 yard run to put the Bears up 12-0 after just three plays.  The Bears defense put the clamps on Lockport forcing three turnovers, one interception by Jackson Miranda, a forced fumble by Ethan Lenac, and another forced fumble by Trey Hernandez.   The Bears host the Fox Valley Gators Sunday at Oswego East High School
 
Junior PeeWee 19 – Lockport Porters 6
The Oswego Bears Junior Pee Wee improved their record to 4-1 with a victory over Lockport. The Bears offense dominate all day on offense moving the ball on the ground and in the air. Chase Gerwig lead the offense with 90 yards passing and 2 touchdown passes, 10 yard pass to Colin Brown & a 20 yard pass to Chris Dicosola. The ground attack was led by the offensive line of Alex Magana, Ben McCollum, Connor Mannis, Ardi Qitaku & Nick Gates. The line opened holes all day for Jackson Gillen, Colin Rowe & Matt Rodarte. The Bears defense was equally impressive with 2 turnovers, a fumble recovery by Tyler Bibbs and an interception by Kush Patel. Special teams stand outs were kicker Gavin Lee & punter Dan Lawrence. The Oswego Bears look to defeat Joliet Sundayat Oswego East. 
 
Pee Wee 20 – Lockport Porters 0
The Oswego Pee Wee Bears beat a feisty Lockport Jr. Porter team today. Cooper Gorman got the scoring started with a 8 yd run to the corner of the end zone with great blocking by Noel Alvarez, Jackson Robertson, Robert Barnes, Christian Battista, and Sergio Jaimes. In the second quarter Ty Carlson was able to get around the corner for a twelve yard touchdown run. Carter Wojcik was able to make the 2 point conversion kick with a good hold from Hunter Gibson and perfect snap from Ethan Cain. In the third quarter the Bears found it hard to move the ball, but in the fourth quarter they were able to score the last touchdown of the game when Ty Carlson hauled in a seven yard pass from Hunter Gibson to make the score 20-0. On the touchdown drive Ethan Cain made a great catch for a 17 yard reception to set up the touchdown pass. 
 
The defense was stout all game giving up a total of 42 yards of total offense. The defense was lead by Jordan Logan and Casey Krahula each recording a sack on the day. The defensive line penetrated the Porters offensive line all day, and were led by Jordan Logan, Braison Goehring, Matthew Engelke, Chaise Schulz, Matthew McCollum, and Casey Krahula.  Austin Johnson, Brandon Heffernan, Ethan Cain, Darren Oregon, John Jannsens, and Carter Wojcik did a great job of stifling the Porters passing game the whole day.  Matthew Engelke had a fumble recovery and John Jannsens had an interception on the day. The Pee Wee Bears will host the Joliet Spartens on Sunday at 2:30pm, and will look to build on their 4-1 record.  
 
Jr. Midget 21 - Lockport Porters 6
 
The offense moved the ball all game long, with some great runs by Keegan Cullison, who scored two touchdowns and Bennet Wojcik with one touchdown. This was made possible by a solid offensive line, consisting of Cole Adams, Jacob Baird, Tim Baker, Kellan Casey, Vince DiCosola, Cole Hansen, Ron Held, and Jacob Plohr.  Once again, Ricky Jacobsen had a strong performance, rushing for over 70 yards during the game.
 
The defense, led by Efrain Davila, Cole Hansen, Luke Matyszka, Bennet Wojcik, and Michael Walsh, was able to shut down Lockport’s offense all day.  Cornerback Luke Matyszka had an amazing interception and Defensive End Cole Hansen had a sack on the Lockport QB. Efrain Davila racked up some hard hitting tackles. It was all around a great game and win for the entire team.

Varsity 31 – Hoffman Estates Red Hawks 0
The Varsity Bears got back in the winning column this week with a 31-0 win over Hoffman Estates Red Hawks. Corey Provow led the offensive attack running for two touchdowns and throwing two more to Mark Baron.  The O-Line was fantastic and were led by Chris Matias, Alex Becker, Alex Ponx, Zach Precup, Noah Zukauskas and Brendan Harkins. 
 
The defense had its third shutout of the season. Sam Wilson had an interception and the other standouts were Provow, Baron, Domenico Gallo, Jeremy Muehring, Precup, Zukauskas, Thomas, Ben Scott, David Wilson, Otto Hess, Jacob Stack and Matias.
