Ken Pickerill Stadium will host Saturday's Class 8A quarterfinal football game vs. Chicago Marist.
Brian Graves, spokesman for School District 308, said late Thursday afternoon that all 6,240 seats have been sold. Kick off for the sophomore game is set for 4:30 p.m. and the varsity kickoff will begin around 7 p.m.
"I think it's going to be a good game," Graves said. "I think both teams' fans are going into this thinking that their team will have a good showing. It's creating a special kind of energy."
The 4-1 Panthers head into the game as the 17th ranked team in the state. The 3-2 Wolves are coming off an exciting 6-3 overtime win last week against Plainfield South. For a full game preview, fans can listen to both head coaches at 7:10 a.m. Friday as they appear on the Lisa Dent and Ramblin' Ray Show on US 99.5.
Dent and Ramblin' Ray won't be the only Chicago radio personalities highlighting the big game. The Eric and Kathy morning show from WTMX 101.9 is also scheduled to be at the game for their weekly high school football feature. The hosts will discuss the game on the show Monday morning.
As if all that wasn't enough, ABC 7 also will feature Oswego East High School in its Friday Flyover segment. Tune in before 7 a.m. for broadcasts from the school and at about 6:15 a.m. for a full report.
In addition to the football and media action, at half-time, officials will announce the results of the second annual District 308 food drive to benefit the Kendall County Food Pantry. As of Thursday afternoon over 53,000 items have been donated, and fans are reminded that raffle tickets will be given away for items donated at the game.
