Tiny Mite 24 – Joliet Spartans 0

The Oswego Bears Tiny Mite team improves to 5-1 and has been unscored on in the last 5 games. The defense has dominated the field allowing only 6 first downs in 5 games.  Aidan Cullen and Nolan Robertson led the Bears on a hunt for the visiting Spartans ball carriers. Luke Hernandez provided a steal when he grabbed the handoff from the Spartans to give the Bears back the ball. 

Great game by Vince Herrera, Christian Herrera, Aiden Wiggins, Robert Shields, Ryan Gedman, Cody Parker, Austin Martin, Cameron Logan, Josh Mathley, Jonah Zukauskas, Giovanni Garcia and Alex Perez on holding off the Spartans all game. Offensively the Bears put up impressive runs by Dominic Batista (55yrds- 5 broken tackles-Touchdown), Kashton Wilson (60yrds-4 broken tackles-Touchdown) Matthew Odefey 40yrd run3 broken tackles, Zach Gilson 15 yrds 3 broken tackles. There is nothing these boys can't do as long as they work as a team. The Oswego Bears travel to challenge the Plainfield Saints next Sunday in Plainfield. Keep up the great work boys!

Mitey Mite 1 (Slou) 27 –Fox Valley Gators 6

Oswego Bears Mitey Mite 1 enjoyed a successful Sunday beating the Fox Valley Gators 27-6.   The Bears were paced offensively with scores by Alexandria Grijalva, Trey Hernandez (Punt Return), and two touchdowns by Damian Lewandowski.   Adding to the offense were Logan Stabb, Jackson Miranda, and Zachary Sempetrean who all racked up nice yardage on the ground and gain much needed first downs to keep score drives alive.   On the defensive side of the ball Brayden Swanson and Brendan Bisgrove lead the charge with help from Charles Canada, Logan Keaton, Lewandowski, and Hernandez.  The Bears defense was very aggressive and kept the Gators off the score board until late in the game when the outcome had already been decided.   The Bears will travel to Plainfield next Saturday at 10:00 am where they hope to continue the success.

Mitey Mite 2 (Heiden) 0 – Joliet Spartans 35

The Mighty Mites battled fiercely despite being undermanned and lost to a very good Joliet team.  QB Ty Dwyer and RB Thomas Anderson battled hard against the aggressive Joliet squad.  Landen Franzen had a great kick off punt in the second half. The defense exploded in the third quarter with many great team tackles and impressive stops to finish out the game.   Landen Franzen, Christian Rodts, Tyler Vlcek, Drew Mulacek, Ryder Shaw, Aiden Heiden, Caleb Yanos, Ethan Baca and Matthew Gandy all contributed on defense.  The entire team played hard and never gave up. 

Senior Mitey Mites (Smith) 0 vs Robbins CalPark Eagles 26

The score does not reflect how hard the boys played against the undefeated Eagles.  Hard running all day by David Drendel, Christian Martyn, Zac Clark and Derek Gordon.  Andy Lewis tallied up 41 yards receiving on 2 catches, Maddox Gerwig 11 yards on 1 catch and Drendel had 1 reception for 12 yards from Martyn. Nick Tickle passed for 52 yards on the day.

Key defensive stops in the trenches were made by Andrew Wiggins, Isaiah Logan, Hunter Smith and Grant Adams.  Tyler Knizner, Aiden Moriarty and Gerwig had touchdown saving tackles. These boys also played on the offensive line providing blocks to give some running room.  Bryson Mello stopped an Eagle drive with an interception and returned it 12 yards.

Junior PeeWee 18 – Joliet Spartans 0

The Oswego Bears Junior Pee Wee added another "W" to the win column with a 18-0 victory over the Joliet Spartans. The Bears improved their record to 5-1 with two regular season games remaining. The Bears offense controlled the game all day on the ground with great running from Colin Rowe, Tyler Bibbs, Jackson Gillen & Matt Rodarte. QB Chase Gerwig was very accurate completing 6 out of 8 of his passes. Gerwig connected with Kian Triplett on the first score of the game. TE Chris Dicosola was the leading receiver with 3 catches on the day from Gerwig. Matt Rodarte scored the second Touchdown of the day and Jackson Gillen sealed the victory with a 50 yard TD run in the 4th quarter. The Bears defense dominated all day lead by MLB Colin Rowe. Cornerbacks Chase Gerwig & Eric Lewis shut down the outside corners. Connor Mannis, Gavin Lee, Alex Magana, Chirs Dicosola, Jackson Gillen & Jaden Nunez controlled the defensive line and shut Joliet's running game down. Safeties Kush Patel, Dan Lawrence & Noah Dial controlled the secondary and shut Joliet's passing game as well. The Bears look to continue their winning ways next Saturday against the Plainfield Saints. 

Pee Wee 25 – Joliet Spartans 0

The Oswego Pee Wee Bears were able to beat the Joliet Spartans 25-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Bears dominated both sides of the ball and now have a 5-1 record. The Bears were able to run the ball successfully all game. Ty Carlson Carter Wojcik each had a touchdown on the day. The offensive line created holes all day for the running backs to run through for big chunks of yardage. Hunter Gibson managed the offense to perfection and was accurate throwing the ball down the field. 

The Bears defense held Joliet off of the scoreboard and has four shutouts on the year. The Bears sacked the Joliet quarterback three times with Ethan Cain with two of them, and for good measure had an interception returned for a touchdown.  The Bears look to improve to a 6-1 record next week when they take on the Plainfield Saints next Saturday at 1:00pm at Aux Sable Middle school in Plainfield. 

Jr. Midget 19 – Joliet Spartans 0 

The Oswego Bears Jr. Midget team was able to secure their first shut out of the season with a 19-0 victory over Joliet.   The defense consisting of  Bennet Wojcik, Efrain Davila, Cole Hansen, Luke Matyszka, and Michael Walsh, was on point all game. They were able to shut down the Joliet offense every step of the way. Michael Walsh and Bennet Wojcik each had  an interception.  Defensive End Ricky Jacobsen pressured the Joliet QB the entire game, and had a sack in the second half of the game. Efrain Davila  and Bennet Wojcik both had several hard hitting tackles.

The offense moved the ball all game long.  Keegan Cullison, who scored two touchdowns had some great runs.  Bennet Wojcik had a breakout run that also ended in a touchdown. This was once again made possible by a solid offensive line, consisting of Cole Adams, Jacob Baird, Tim Baker, Kellan Casey, Vince DiCosola, Cole Hansen, Ron Held, and Jacob Plohr.  This win was truly a team effort. All 16 players were an integral part of the game.  The Jr. Midget team takes on Plainfield next Saturday, October 10th at 2:30pm.

Varsity 35 – Lockport Porters 8

The Oswego Bears improved their record to 5-1. Their high powered offense was led by Corey Provow who was involved in all five touchdowns, 2 rushing, 2 passing and 1 receiving. Our offensive line did a great job blocking, opening holes and our backs, Mark Baron and Sam Wilson hit them hard and had big runs. Mark Baron had two receiving touchdowns. Other contributing backs were Otto Hess, Domenico Gallo and David Wilson, Jr. Our Offensive line was led by Matias, Becker, Alex Ponx, Zach Precup, Noah Zukauskas and Brendan Harkins with the Bears dominating the clock.

Our defense was iron clad again. Otto Hess had a block punt that led to a score. The defense was led by Provow, Sam Wilson, Mark Baron, DJ Thomas, Noah Zukauskas, Jeremy Muehring, Zack Precup, David Wilson, Brenden Harkins, Alex Becker, Domenico Gallo, Nick Connelly and Jacob Stack. Next game will be against the Naperville Chargers.
