The kids community nonprofit organization Happy Helpers held its first multi-organization donation drive Sunday at the Oswego YMCA.

According to Ivette Dubiel, founder and Board President, the event brought in the following donations for the corresponding community organizations:

  • Celebrate Differences 175 toilet paper, 33 paper towels, 24 Kleenex, 22 wipes, 3 reams of paper, 6 waters, 24 bowls
  • Kendall County Food Pantry over 100 canned goods, 50 dried foods, condiments, 2 full boxes of shampoo/conditioner and toothpaste
  • Kendall County PADS 2 boxes of gloves, hats, scarves, ear coverings and 6 coats
  • Operation Gratitude over 200 letters written for troops
  • Oswego Senior Center 200 pairs of shoes
  • Project Linus 19 blankets made
  • Rover Rescue 100 paper towels, 50 dog toys, 200 towels
  • Toys for Tots 10 toys and $300
"We are very thankful to the Village of Oswego for their truckload of needed items, the Grande Park Gives Back before-school program for their letter-writing to vets and troops, to the business establishments that collected and to the countless people that dropped off items for these local charities," Dubiel said. "It is a great, one-stop opportunity to make an impact for many organizations at once. We look forward to making it a greater event next year."
