Oswego Weekend Planner: Scare Up Some Family Fun

With Halloween a little over a week away, Oswego has a plethora of holiday activities planned this weekend. Check out this roundup of everything on tap Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

Friday, Oct. 23

5:30 to 9 p.m. Halloween at the YMCA / Fall Fest Join the Oswego Family Y for a fun-filled event for the whole family. This event is free and open to the community! CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS

Saturday, Oct. 24

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Downton Oswego Trick or Treating, Pumpkin Races, Chili Cook-off Head downtown dressed for trick or treating and visit participating local businesses. While you're there check out the family fun at the Oswegoland Optimist Club Pumpkin races beginning at noon. 2 to 4 p.m. 
Oswegoland Park District 32nd Annual Monster Mash Bash Join your friends and neighbors for a howling good time. For just $5 per child (payable at the door and adults are free), toddlers through fourth-graders can don their Halloween costumes and gather at the Oswego High School Field House for a safe, supervised celebration. 7 to 9 p.m. Limelight Theatre Company Radio Show: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari Horror abounds at The Little While School Museum in this original adaptation of 1918’s silent German film travels deep into the recesses of the human mind. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS

Sunday, Oct. 25

9 to 11:30 a.m. Healthy Driven FraidyCat 5K This flat, scenic USATF-IL-certified course takes runners through Oswego neighborhoods. The 5K, 10K, and Meow Mile races are chip-timed at the start and finish. The Meow Mile will start promptly at 9 a.m. in front of the Oswego Center (old Traughber Junior High School, 61 Franklin St.). The FraidyCat 5K and the Ghost Run 10K will start approximately at 9:30a.m. The course will close at 11:30 a.m. Raceday registration will be available starting at 7 a.m. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS
