Another Welcome to Oswego Sign Stolen: Police

Another of the new Welcome to Oswego signs was stolen last week from near Grove and Old Reserves roads. One of the signs was stolen on Douglas Road in July.
Smash and Grab
Oswego Police are investigating a smash and grab robbery that took place at the LA Tan on Route 30 at about 9:15 p.m. Oct. 24. There are no suspects in the case, and about $153 in cash was stolen after a window to the location was broken to gain entry, police said.
Man Crashes into Construction Zone
A 50-year-old Yorkville man crashed into the construction zone near Route 71 and Liberty at about 3:20 a.m. Oct. 23, according to an Oswego Police report. The man struck several construction signs and came to a stop on a mound of dirt. He was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center for observation. He has received no citations, according to police.
Oswego Sign Stolen
Oswego Police reported that a Welcome to Oswego sign was stolen sometime before 1:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at Grove and Old Reserve roads. The sign is valued at about $1,200, and there are no suspects in the case. This is the second time since July one of the new signs was taken.
DUI, Pot Possession
Gerald Pastore, 27, of Oswego, was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 5 p.m. Oct. 21 near Orchard Road and Route 34, according to an Oswego Police report.
A Montgomery woman was the victim of a DUI accident that occurred at about 9:40 p.m. Oct. 20 near Route 126 and Hopkins Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. The 45-year-old woman was hit head on by Mark Beimal, 44, of Romeoville, who according to the sheriff's office was driving under the influence of drugs. He was also cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured vehicle.
Hit and Run
Andrea Linden, 20, of Montgomery, was arrested for leaving the scene of accident at about 3 p.m. Oct. 23 after allegedly hitting a speed limit sign and tree at in the 0-99 block of Briarcliff Road, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report.
Oswego police are investigating the theft of $6,000 from the 0-99 block of Benton Street sometime before 11 p.m. Oct. 19, according to a police report. There are no suspects in the case, police said.
More Cash Stolen
A couple in the 0-99 block of Pembrooke Road reported someone stole about $1,800 in cash from a lock box in the home sometime before 10 p.m. Oct. 19, according to a Kendall County Sheriff's Office report. A suspect has been identified, the sheriff's office said.
